BOONE, N.C. -- The Troy men's basketball program used a crucial 10-2 run to coast to a wire-to-wire, 69-56, victory over the Appalachian State Mountaineers, Friday night at the Holmes Convocation Center. The win was Troy's first ever victory at Appalachian State in school history and snapped a three-game losing streak in the series.
The Trojans (6-4, 1-0 Sun Belt) held Appalachian State (6-4, 0-1 Sun Belt) to just a pair of free throws from the 11:16 mark of the second half to the 4:35 mark, increasing the 50-44 lead to a decisive 60-46 advantage.
