Former Troy standout Brynden Trawick is a safety, but when Oakland signed him during the offseason, the Raiders' primary objective wasn't beefing up their secondary, but putting some pop in their special teams.
Only seven NFL players were on the field for more special-teams plays than Trawick was last year for the Baltimore Ravens. He had 394 special-teams players in 2015.
Trawick showed how he could help the Raiders during their preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night. He blocked a Green Bay punt that Oakland recovered for its only touchdown in a 20-12 loss.
