State NFL roundup: Kwon Alexander, Jameis Winston get Buccaneers off to good start

Last season, middle linebacker Kwon Alexander and quarterback Jameis Winston made their NFL debuts for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 42-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

On Sunday, the former Alabama prep stars started their second pro seasons in a much different fashion as they led the Bucs to a 31-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC South game.

Winston completed 23-of-33 passes for 281 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Alexander made 17 tackles, including 15 solo stops, one sack and two tackles for loss.

In high school, Alexander played at Oxford and Winston played at Hueytown.
