Spring training rosters show influx of Alabama baseball talent

On Tuesday, Major League baseball teams will square off at spring training sites in Florida and Arizona for the first time in 2016.

Last baseball season, 26 players from Alabama high schools and colleges played in the MLB regular-season games. That number should be higher in 2016, even though former Glenwood High and Auburn star Tim Hudson has retired after 17 seasons and ex-South Alabama standout and St. Louis Cardinals' World Series hero David Freese remains unsigned for the coming season.

Of the Alabama-connected players in MLB training camps this spring, 12 have never played in the big leagues – and most of them might not this season, either.
