His longevity, passion and dedication to the sportscasting craft – well, that has taken him to his second hall of fame induction ceremony this year.
Black and seven others comprise the 2016 Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame class, which will be inducted tonight at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center. Black, the longtime “Voice of the Trojans,” was also enshrined in the Troy University Sports Hall of Fame earlier this year.
“There’s not too many regional hall of fames if you really look at it,” Black said. “If you look at this one in the Wiregrass, there’s some names in the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame that are just… Major League baseball players, pro football players and pro basketball players.
