Southern Miss' offense presenting tough challenge to Troy

The Troy Trojans (1-1) will face a veteran offense today when they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., for a battle with the Golden Eagles – who are averaging 50 points a game – at 6 p.m. Sure, a 56-0 victory over FCS doormat Savannah State skews the numbers a bit, but Southern Miss (2-0) managed 44 points in a victory over SEC foe Kentucky on the road to open the season.

Even though new head coach Jay Hopson – who possesses a background in defense – has taken over, the Golden Eagles have continued the offensive momentum Monken ignited.
