TROY — Oh, there’s no doubt Troy running back Jabir Frye has heard the sneering nicknames.
They go far past his time with the Trojans, which began just this summer, and center on the heights he reaches.
Plus, when your last name is the same as his, and the measuring stick doesn’t go too far, it is too easy.
“Small Frye. Little Frye. Munchkin,” fellow running back Josh Anderson, detailing the many variations he has deployed.
“I call him my son, really.”
Frye, admittedly, can’t offer much of an argument.
That’s the price for being 5-foot-7 — or at least listed 5-7 — and being part of a team where 6 feet is easily the norm.
