BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Edita Sklenska wrapped up day two of the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships with a first-place finish in the women's 800m finals Tuesday afternoon from the Birmingham CrossPlex, in Birmingham, Ala.
With a time of 2:07.46, Sklenska took home gold while breaking her own Sun Belt meet record of 2:08.34, which she set at last year's Sun Belt championships.
This is the third time this season that Sklenska has finished in first place running the 800m event, with this time being the best of the three.
Also competing was Sophomore Ines Garcia, who saw two top-five finishes in the Women's Indoor Pentathlon.
