TROY, Ala. – Troy slugger Shane Lewis earned his third All-America honor of the year as the American Baseball Coaches Association named Lewis to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Third Team on Friday.
The 61st All-American in program history, Lewis has now earned All-America honors this season from Collegiate Baseball (second team), the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (second team) and the American Baseball Coaches Association (third team).
Lewis, a Vicksburg, Miss., native, set the Troy single-season home run record as he hit 27 blasts during his first season with the Trojans. The 27 bombs broke a 24-year-old record held by Jorge Soto, who hit 26 home runs during the 1999 season.
