TROY, Alabama – Incoming Troy sophomore ShaeLee Scarberry has qualified for the match play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss. Scarberry is the No. 59 seed after tying for 54th place in the stroke play portion of the event at 3-over through a pair of rounds.
Scarberry will take on No. 6 seeded Gabriela Ruffels from Australia in the opening round of match play beginning at 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday. Ruffels, a rising junior at USC, shot 4-under in stroke play to tie for fifth place.
