Seniors to be recognized as Troy Trojans host Texas State

TROY – The irony surrounding Troy’s Senior Day game Saturday against Texas State is the fact that nobody associated with the Trojans wants or expects this to be the team’s final home game.

A small but impactful group of seniors has helped Troy remain on top of the Sun Belt Conference’s East Division. The Trojans (8-2 overall, 6-0 SBC) can clinch a tie for the division title with a win today over the Bobcats (3-7, 1-5).

However, the season boils down to a showdown against second-place Appalachian State next week in Boone, N.C. If both teams win today – Appalachian State plays at home against Georgia State – the Trojans and Mountaineers will play for the division title and the right to host the Sun Belt’s inaugural championship game on Dec.
