Former Elba quarterback Ramsey Rigby has opted to transfer, Troy officials confirmed. They also confirmed former New Brockton quarterback Payton Carter – a wide receiver with the Trojans – has left the team.
Rigby guided the Tigers to two AHSAA Class 2A state title game appearances, defeating Fyffe 36-22 last December. Rigby passed for a Wiregrass-leading 2,236 yards and 30 touchdowns in his senior season en route to Dothan Eagle Super 12 honors.
Rigby, the son of Troy women’s basketball coach Chanda Rigby, graduated in December and enrolled early at Troy with a chance to serve as Brandon Silvers’ backup.
