TROY, Alabama – Troy earned an important, hard-fought victory on Saturday in Trojan Arena defeating South Alabama, 66-58, in front of a record crowd of 2,327.
Troy (19-6, 10-4 SBC) scored 26 points off 21 South Alabama turnovers as both teams struggled offensively. The Trojans shot 32.5 percent (26-80) from the field, while the Jaguars converted just 33.8 percent (23-68).
After a slow start, Troy went on a 20-6 run late in the first quarter to pull ahead by double digits, 20-10. Playing turnover-free basketball in the second quarter, the Trojans build it advantage to 12 at halftime.
