TROY, Alabama – After making three dominant appearances this past week, Troy's Ashley Rainey has been named the Sun Belt as Pitcher of the Week.
Rainey posted a 1.21 ERA over 17.1 innings of work against UAB and Georgia State during the week. She started her week with 5.0 innings of relief on at UAB. Rainey got the Trojans out of the jam and held the Blazers to just two hits and no runs in Troy's 4-2 victory.
The Tuscaloosa native got the start and win in the circle for Troy's first Sun Belt opener against Georgia State as she improved her record to 10-5 on the season.
