TROY -- Troy opened its season with a near-historic night Saturday.
Jordan Chunn ran for 161 yards, Ismail Saleem had 106 yards receiving, and the Trojans amassed 706 yards in a 57-17 victory over Austin Peay.
Troy crossed the 50-point barrier for the third time in coach Neal Brown's 14 games. The Trojans had reached it just once in the previous five seasons.
Chunn's 161 yards rushing were the second most for the Trojans in a season opener. Shawn Southward had 204 in 2012 vs. UAB.
Troy also scored its third-most points in a season opener.
