TROY — Brandon Silvers threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Troy Trojans take a 52-31 victory over Massachusetts on Saturday.
Silvers finished 26-of-36 passing with touchdown passes of 5 yards to Emanuel Thompson, 7 yards to John Johnson and 12 yards to Andre Flakes.
Johnson added a 16-yard TD pass to Tevaris McCormick in a key portion of the third quarter for the Trojans (7-1).
Ryan Kay kicked a 21-yard field goal with 1:50 left in the period to give Troy a 31-24 lead.
Troy pooched the kickoff and UMass (2-8) fumbled the ball.
