Pensacola Selected as Future Home of Sun Belt Basketball Championships

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Sun Belt Conference and the city of Pensacola have entered into a five-year agreement that will move the Sun Belt Men's and Women's Basketball Championships to the Sunshine State beginning in 2021.

As part of the agreement, the conference will return to the original 12-team format for both the men's and women's championships.

Beginning in March of 2021, the Sun Belt Men's and Women's Championship will begin on Wednesday, Mar. 5 and conclude with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 8.

First and second round action will be split between the Pensacola Bay Center and Hartsell Arena on the campus of Pensacola State College, with the semifinals and championship games slated to be played in the Bay Center.
