TROY, Ala. – Powered by a stellar performance from Ella Owen, Troy downed Jacksonville State, 2-1, to snap a three-game losing skid Thursday at the Troy Soccer Complex.
Both teams jumped out the gate quickly, firing three shots off in the first seven minutes, but it was Jacksonville State (4-2) who found the back of the net first. Kylie Wells took a pass from Brooklyn Still who put the Gamecocks on top in the 17th-minute.
Troy (3-3) knotted up the match in the 32nd-minute when Owen recorded her first goal of the season off a cross from Taytum Terrell.
