TROY — There was an ease and rhythm to the technique and an ardent dedication to the preparation.
Shot after shot soared off Wesley Person Jr.’s hands toward the goal, and his new coach could only gawk like a first-day Spring Breaker roaming the beach.
Three years later, though Person’s routine is, well, almost routine, it still coaxes memories out of Troy coach Phil Cunningham from long, long ago.
And he’s still amazed.
“I’ve said this from the day he got here, he has a professional approach that you rarely see in a college athlete,” Cunningham said.
