Troy head coach Chip Lindsey said an upset victory on homecoming "was there for the taking."
Instead, Louisiana quarterback Levi Lewis threw touchdown passes of 52, 15 and 13 yards and ran 27 yards for another score to lead No. 24 Ragin' Cajuns past Troy, 35-21, Saturday.
The Trojans trailed 14-13 at halftime, played a poor third quarter and fought back within a touchdown early in the fourth.
Troy couldn't complete the upset with turnovers on its final three possessions.
"Tough loss for us. I feel like we were in a good spot there, just didn't make enough plays to get it done," Lindsey said.
