No. 13 Coastal Carolina 42, Troy 38: What we learned in the Trojans' near-miss loss

TROY — One 75-yard, 45-second drive dashed Troy’s hopes of playing spoiler to America’s Cinderella, the No. 13-ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, at home on Saturday.

Coastal quarterback Grayson McCall led a last-minute drive, capped by a 23-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to Jaivon Heiligh to escape Veterans Memorial Stadium with a 42-38 win.

Troy fell to 5-6. Coastal Carolina improved to 11-0.
