NFL opening season with 112 players with Alabama football roots

The Dallas Cowboys might be America's Team, but they aren't Alabama's. Of the 32 NFL teams, only Dallas doesn't have a player with Alabama football roots on its active roster.

The NFL will start its 2016 season on Thursday night when the Carolina Panthers visit the Denver Broncos. NBC will televise the game at 7:30 CDT.

NFL teams have 112 players from Alabama high schools and colleges on their active rosters heading into Thursday night's kickoff. Dallas has one on its roster, but linebacker Rolando McClain, a former Decatur High School and Alabama star, is on the reserve/did not report list and suspended for the first 10 games of the season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
