As Troy athletics director Jeremy McClain talked with Chip Lindsey about the Trojans’ head coaching vacancy, that was the feeling McClain came away with.
And it was mutual for Lindsey, who said he may have asked as many questions during their three- to four-hour interview and the subsequent phone calls that followed.
“ In this kind of situation, for me, I was ready to be a head coach, but I wanted to be at a place that you can succeed,” Lindsey said a couple hours after his press conference. “And there’s a lot of factors involved with that, not just facilities and money and all that.
