CLOVIS, California – The Troy outdoor track team has two athletes in Hakim Montgomery and Michael Alvarnez competing in the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Clovis, Calif., on Friday.
The two have a chance to earn a spot as a member of the United States team that will compete at the World Jr. Championships in Poland.
Montgomery, who is the second seed, will compete in the men's 100-meter dash and Alvarnez will compete in the hammer throw. Both events will be held on Friday, with the first round of the 100-meter competition is set to begin 5:30 p.
