PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The Troy men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament with an impressive 4-3, come from behind victory over UT Arlington in Friday's opening round match.
The Trojans (20-3) earned the gutsy win on Friday after falling behind UT Arlington (7-11) early after they won the doubles point convincingly. With all eyes on singles, and needing to win four of the six matches, Troy had its work cut out for them.
With its depth and strong lineup, Troy didn't trail for long. The Trojans picked up back-to-back victories to start singles play from freshman Carlos Anton (6-1, 6-4) and senior Amer Bedwan (6-3, 6-1) to jump in front with a 2-1 lead.
