Men’s Tennis Bests Mercer

FT. WALTON BEACH, Fla. – The Troy men's tennis team won for the 12th time in its last 13 matches with a 5-2 victory over Mercer Wednesday afternoon in a neutral site matchup in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.

Troy (12-2) bounced back from losing the doubles point to win on five-of-six singles courts to bring home the victory as the Trojans are nearing Sun Belt Conference play. Sunday's upcoming contest at UAB is Troy's final tune-up before league play starts March 18.

Vito Llinares put the Trojans on the board with quick work on court six, winning 6-1, 6-1 to improve his spring record to 8-3, while Mario Martinez Serrano improved to 12-2 with a 6-2, 6-2 win on the top court.
