HUMBLE, Texas – Clayton Vannoy fired a 1-under 71 to lead Troy in the opening round of the All-American Intercollegiate Friday at the Golf Club of Houston. The Trojans are in eighth place following the opening 18 holes and are just six strokes out of third place.
Vannoy carded five birdies on the day, including three on the back nine as he shot 1-under over the final nine holes. He is tied for seventh place overall and just four shots back of a pair in first place.
Troy headed into the final three holes in fifth place, but shot 7-over par on those holes to slip to 11-over for the round and eighth place overall.
