The Troy cross country season began Friday at the JSU Struts Season Opener where the men's and women's teams placed second and ninth in the red division, respectively.
"We did some good things on the men's side," head coach Elliott Blount said. "A solid start to the season even with three of our top runners sitting out. It's nice to get some of that race rust off with a shorter distance. We have to keep the momentum going down in Mobile this Friday. South Alabama is a very well coached team and always field strong teams.
