McGill-Toolen senior defensive back Tre Young commits to Troy

Defensive back Tre Young became the third McGill-Toolen senior football player to verbally commit to a college this week when he gave his pledge to Troy University on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Yellow Jacket linebacker Carlton Martial, the reigning Coastal Alabama Defensive Player of the Year, committed to Alabama A&M and defensive back wide receiver Brandon Hinton committed to Air Force.

Fellow McGill seniors Marlon Williams (Southern Cal) and Trey Bendolph (Jacksonville State) also already have committed.

In helping the Yellow Jackets to the Class 7A state title a year ago, Young had 72 tackles, six pass break ups and four tackles for a loss.
