TROY — Houston Mabray and three relievers combined on a three-hitter in Troy’s 8-0 victory over South Alabama on Saturday in both teams’ regular-season finale.
Mabray (5-3) gave up all three hits and both walks in six innings. Robert Harris, Trey Johns and Marc Skinner finished with the only blemish a Johns hit batsman.
Joey Denison finished with four RBIs, including a three-run home run that highlighted a six-run fifth inning for the Trojans (32-24).
South Alabama (38-18) suffered its first shutout of the season.
Justin Friend scored twice for Troy, which will be the fourth seed in the upcoming Sun Belt tournament.
