In match play competition, Moser hit an approach shot to within 2 feet on his first playoff hole and tapped in for birdie to best Georgia State’s Alex Herrmann at The Raven in Miramar Beach, Fla. With the victory, the Trojans secured its second consecutive NCAA playoff berth after making the field as an at-large selection last year.
But it came with plenty of drama.
The Trojans and the Panthers advanced to the final round after morning match play wins over Arkansas State and South Alabama, respectively. Troy and Georgia State then waged a back-and-forth battle that was tied 2-2 after the first four golfers.
