TROY, Alabama – Troy rising senior Luke Moser qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship after shooting a 1-under 143 at a qualifier at the Oakland University Golf Course on Monday. Moser, who finished in a tie for second, runs Troy's streak with a current student-athlete competing at the U.S. Amateur Championship to five straight years.
An All-Sun Belt First Team selection last season, Moser entered the final round of play one shot back of a qualifying spot, but played bogey free in the final round to finish three shots in the clear of fourth place.
Moser, a native of Waterloo, Ontario, led Troy with 12 rounds under par last season and finished the year with a 73.
