TROY – Six returning starters in the lineup and a pitching staff that returns its ace and six players who saw action on the mound as freshmen last season provide a lot of familiar faces who started practice on Friday for the Troy University baseball team.
Brandon Lockridge hit .344 with six home runs and 39 RBIs for the Trojans last season. Andrew Crane, who started the season in the bullpen but who eventually became the team’s Friday night starter, is back after going 6-2 with a 1.47 earned run average.
“It’s great to have returning guys that were in key roles,” Troy head coach Mark Smartt said Friday.
