ORLANDO- Sophomores Brooke Echols and Logan Calhoun each blasted their first home runs of the season in Troy's 4-0 win over FIU. The bats kept heating up as the Trojans (10-6) run-ruled UCSB 9-1 to kick-off the D9 Citrus Classic on Friday.
Game one: Troy 4, FIU 0
Echols got the party started with a solo home run in the second inning to give the Trojans an early advantage on the Panthers.
Both teams struggled to get anything else going until back-to-back singles from Carli Kayler and freshman Hope Hernandez put two runners on with two outs.
