Troy, Ala. – Finding themselves down a run in the bottom of the seventh with two outs and two runners on, sent a 1-2 pitch to the right-field gap scoring both runners and giving Troy a 4-3 victory over Georgia State Saturday afternoon from Riddle Pace-Field.
With the victory, not only does Troy (27-14, 12-8) take the series from the Panthers (24-19, 10-10), but the win gives the Trojans their 27 victory of the season, already matching their win total of last season.
Making his first-weekend start of the season, pitcher went 5.1 innings pitched, tied a career-high in strikeouts finishing with eight while allowing three runs on only two hits.
