STATESBORO – Troy rallied for four runs in the late innings but couldn't complete the comeback as it dropped its first conference road series of the season after a 7-4 loss to Georgia Southern at J.I. Clements Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans (31-16, 13-10) fell behind 7-1 after six innings mostly due to a four-run bottom of the sixth by Georgia Southern (24-21, 14-8) – scoring all four with two outs in the frame.
For the second consecutive game, the Eagles were gifted with a strong start on the mound – this time from sophomore Seth Shuman (5-5).
