MOBILE — The words streamed out late in Troy’s final team meeting before Saturday night’s Dollar General Bowl.
The seniors had left the room when coach Neal Brown looked around and presented a challenge to the Trojans.
What would be a 42-32 win over Buffalo that sent Troy’s seniors out with one piece of history would also represent a glimmer of Troy’s future.
The victory that gave Troy its third straight 10-win season and sealed the school’s best three-year stretch of success since the mid-1990s also would be a spark for what’s to come.
