Alabama guard Arthur Edwards (4) and Alabama forward Riley Norris (1) celebrate as time runs out and Alabama beats South Carolina Wednesday in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide (10-5) was 0-2 in the young Southeastern Conference season and a 0-3 start looked possible – and daunting – with previously undefeated South Carolina visiting.
Instead, Riley Norris got his first start of the season, tied a school record with eight 3-pointers and led Alabama to a 73-50 blowout victory.
That handed coach Avery Johnson his first SEC victory. It was the Tide’s third win over a ranked team this season.
