TROY, Ala. – For the first time in program history, a Troy softball player has been selected as the Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year, as Kelly Horne took home the league's top preseason honor, the Sun Belt announced Thursday. Additionally, the Trojans were selected fourth in the preseason poll voted on by the league's head coaches.
Horne, who has been named the No. 8 second baseman in the country by D1 Softball and the No. 7 second baseman by Extra Innings Softball, is coming off one of the best offensive seasons in program history.
