TROY, Ala. – Troy has a storied history of record-setting quarterbacks in its program, but none had ever topped the 500-yard mark through the air in a game. Kaleb Barker changed that Saturday night when he threw for 504 yards and four touchdowns against Southern Miss, and he has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts, the league office announced Monday.
Barker's total ranks as the second most nationally in a game this season and the fourth most in Sun Belt Conference history. The Decatur, Alabama native was 29-of-43 through the air against the Golden Eagles and completed passes eight different teammates.
