At one point during Troy’s battle against Sun Belt leader Georgia State on Saturday, coach Phil Cunningham glanced up at the large video board inside Trojan Arena to get a reminder of what was ahead.
“ESPN+ had a graphic showing our next games,” Cunningham said. “It’s ULM on the road, Lafayette on the road, at South (Alabama). We better win this game.”
As you likely know by now, Troy did win in thrilling fashion when star forward Jordon Varnado knocked down a long, long 3-pointer from beyond the top of the key with 1.7 ticks left for a 77-75 victory.
