TROY, Ala. – After powering Troy to a 5-1 week, Leanna Johnson and Kelly Horne swept the Sun Belt Pitcher and Player of the Week awards, the league office announced Tuesday.
"I'm very proud of Kelly and Leanna for earning these awards," co-interim head coach Taylor Smartt said. "They are both very deserving and are using their experience to their advantage. They both are competitors that don't chase accolades but choose to focus on improving their craft daily to help this team!"
After batting above .600 for the second consecutive week, Kelly Horne earns the first weekly honor of her career.
