NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Troy outfielder Joey Denison earned the New England Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Denison, who plays for the Upper Valley Nighthawks, picked up the franchises first-ever NECBL Player of the Week award.
"Joey had a strong second half this spring and looks like he's carried it over to the summer," Mark Smartt said. "He's a really good hitter and we are excited about his senior season in 2017."
The Troy, Ala., native led the league with a .560 batting average and 14 hits, including five doubles, one triple and eight RBIs for the week.
