MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Javon Osbourne shined on Friday for day two of the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship with Troy's sole first-place finish at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Osbourne competed in the shot put event at 5:30 p.m. when he began his takeover for the event. His first throw of 15.61m put him at fifth behind Texas State, Arkansas State, South Alabama and Appalachian State. However, his second attempt put the sophomore on the map when he broke his personal best at 18.40m to lock up a gold medal in the event.
