TROY, Ala. – Troy sprinter Jared Hayes is headed to Tampere, Finland, where he will represent the United States at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in Athletics at Ratina Stadium.
The Sun Belt Male Freshman and Newcomer of the Year will run the second leg on Team USA's 4x100-meter relay team Friday. He qualified for the world championships with a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at the USA Junior National Championships in Indiana back in June.
Hayes and company are set to begin their qualifying round at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) and will aim to advance to the finals Saturday morning at 9:55 (CDT).
