For the second time in three games, a special kickoff swung momentum in Troy’s favor last week. Troy use d a pooch kick – and subsequent fumble recovery – to quickly extend a seven-point lead to a 14-point advantage in the third quarter of a 52-31 victory over UMass.
Three games ago against Georgia State, the Trojans (7-1 overall, 4-0 Sun Belt Conference) converted a mid-game onside kick and used a quick touchdown afterward to jump ahead of the Panthers 17-14. The Trojans eventually won 31-21.
