TROY — The contrast was obvious from the nervousness Gunnar Watson showed last year for his first college snap to the nervousness he didn’t show in his first meaningful time as Troy’s quarterback.
His teammates noticed. His coaches noticed. Heck, even the redshirt freshman noticed.
“I felt a lot more comfortable,” Watson said Tuesday. “I know what I need to do. I feel comfortable, and I think I fared pretty well.”
Watson, pressed into service when starter Kaleb Barker left Saturday’s 42-10 loss due to injury, presented a much-different picture than his college debut.
