MOBILE, Ala. – The Troy Trojans soccer program remained unbeaten on the 2019 season Friday afternoon, defeating Stetson University 3-2 at the Jaguar Classic hosted by South Alabama.
The difference in the match, was set piece goal from senior captain Kiersten Edlund, whose perfect corner-kick service just eluded Stetson (1-2) goalkeeper Lara Bates before finding the net.
Junior Haleigh Mercer made a pair of saves to earn her second victory of the season.
Troy started quickly Friday, scoring just over five minutes into the match. Freshman Melissa Kuya-Strobel received a perfect through ball from Kate Eubanks and deposited the ball into the back of the net.
