TROY, Alabama – Senior standout pitcher Grant Bennett was named to the 2016 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, USA Baseball announced on Wednesday.
The Golden Spikes Award is a fan based nomination award and goes to the top collegiate baseball player of the year. The midseason watch list features 60 athletes.
"Grant definitely belongs on this prestigious list based on his outstanding performance through the first half of his senior season," head coach Mark Smartt said. "He has taken the Friday night role and made it his own with his toughness and competitiveness.
