'Good Guy' DeMarcus Ware dealing with bad back

Denver Broncos outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is one of the five nominees for the Pro Football Writers of America's Good Guy Award.

The PFWA announced the nominees for its off-the-field awards on Thursday. The Good Guy Award is presented annually to a player in recognition of "his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs."

Ware was "cited for his honesty, depth and willingness to be out front on the league's No. 1 defense to offer some perspective along the way."

The other nominees for the Good Guy Award are Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell, Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson and Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Eric Winston.
